Coopersale Street Hamlet sits within Epping Forest, approximately a mile east of the market town of Epping itself. It first appeared on a 1777 map of the area. The Theydon Oak is one of the hamlet’s five Grade II listed buildings including timber-framed, weather boarded and plastered properties dating from the 15th Century.
